Business

Welcome to my views regarding how we operate our businesses in today's world. There are many things that I like about the business world and, unfortunately, quite a few that I think we can do much better. So, as usual, let me know where you agree and where you disagree with me. I just love feedback. It gives me new information to ponder. Who knows, you may just swing me over to your way of thinking. And, check back on a regular basis to see new topics as they're added. Without further ado, here are my views on ...

Small Business and the Entrepreneurial Spirit:

One of the things that I love about living in the United States is that we all have the freedom to try building a business of our own. I just wish that the "playing field" was more level, so to speak. It's a lot easier to start a new business if you have a good deal of capital than if you are starting out at ground zero. In today's world, the proverbial "starting on a shoestring" model of growing a business is pretty much gone unless you're willing to be ruthless in your dealings with others and have no concern for how many people you "rip off" by selling junk at exorbitant prices, at least until you can "afford" to do things the right way. Ah, but here's where I believe the Internet can come to the rescue.

The Internet and the World Wide Web help to level the playing field. If you develop a top-notch product or service, the Internet provides a way for you to get it to market in an affordable way. It's still not easy, but it gives you a fighting chance. Anyone can now develop superb marketing materials and get them into the hands of potential customers at a very reasonable cost. The little home office start-up company can develop a web site every bit as impressive as the largest corporations, often even more impressive. Powerful web development tools are available at very low prices. And, the best part about marketing on the web is that, if you have a good product or service and offer it at a fair price, the word of mouth (or e-mail) advertising can quickly build a good size customer base for you.

One of the things that we want to try to accomplish with this site is to encourage people to think about starting their own business of some kind so that they are not solely dependent on finding and keeping a "good job" in order to keep food on the table and a roof over their head. So, look for opportunities here. We will only promote web sites, products, services or opportunities that we believe are terrific at this site. If there is one point that we want to drive home here, it's that we will always strive to earn your trust. So, if we offer or recommend something at this site, you can be sure that we feel we're providing you with an opportunity. If we make a mistake and find that we were wrong about a business opportunity, product or service that we previously recommended, we will be quick to point out our mistake.

We have an opportunity, with the Internet and World Wide Web, to develop relationships and community that we could only dream of twenty years ago. It's time for the people to take back their personal power. We want to assist in this effort. No longer should government and big business be able to abuse the power they have over people's lives. The "common people" now have an opportunity to band together and have a much greater voice than ever before. Let's seize this opportunity and help create a world where people can trust each other again. Whew, it's time for me to get off my soapbox. I'll have a lot more to say about this later. Thanks for taking the time to hear a little about my views on the subject.
